Duty version.
The Tahe Marine Greenland was born when centuries of established kayak culture met up with the creative capabilities of modern technology. This kayak is a direct descendent of the traditional kayaks of Greenland, ancient boats that reached Europe as early as the 17th century. Our modern reincarnation uses the same classic low-volume hull with a V-shaped bottom. Although this requires a level of proficiency, at the same time it delivers unmatched speed and performance on both calm waters and in the face of breaking waves. The Greenland’s cockpit space for your feet was carefully engineered, keeping in mind the characteristics and needs of the human body on long journeys. On trips that last several days the true wonders of this tradition inspired kayak clearly manifest themselves — speed, lightness and one very relaxed paddler.

The build quality and overall finish is certainly impressive.
I took a short trip to Borgholm this weekend for my first paddle of the year. The highlight of my trip was a test paddling of the new Tahe Multisport. I was also able to meet with Johan Wirsén, the designer of the Multisport, and see his recently launched winter project; the sailing boat in the picture. It was our first spring like weather of the season, with calm winds, and a sunny 12-13 degrees C (54-55 degrees F).

The Coastspirit is designed to be a fun, stable and accessible sea kayak for day and weekend trips. It is made in Sweden from rotomolded 3-layer polyethylene, which makes it extremely durable, requiring virtually no maintenance. Finland’s largest boating industry event in terms of physical size and number of visitors, the Helsinki International Boat Show 2009, took place in mid-February. The year’s most prestigious maritime event in Finland is a magnet for all enthusiasts of the boating lifestyle. Latvian team, supported by Tahe Marine Expedition, told their story
For the first time Tahe Kayaks workshop was held at Sigtuna. During these two days Tahe Kayaks presented 5 new and 2 upgraded models as well as new accessories. Tahe Kayaks showed new demokayaks to local dealers and press. October 21th-22th participated and tested Tahe Marine kayaks 23 dealers all over Sweden.
The Light Blue Paddling Project
The 1st of June 2008 started Maija and her Tahe Marine kayak their journey from Virolahti, a small village on the border of Finland and Russia. At the same time began Johanna her expedition with exact similar kayak from Svinesund Bridge which lies in the border between Norway and Sweden. The only difference between the kayaks were their color; Johanna had a shining yellow, Maija bright blue.
The Kanumesse is the most important meeting place for the worldwide paddlesport industry. The continued success story of this international show was confirmed by delighted exhibitors and visitors at the Kanumesse 2008.

Our production of paddles and oars was started back in1989 by Mihhail Zaitsev, a veteran of the 1980 summer Olympic Games and a man who has come to know the sea like the back of his hand. Mihhail Zaitsev has long believed that when it comes to today’s equipment, it is really all about taking traditional solutions and refining them to suit modern conditions. His thinking remains close to our hearts as we continue to use the best modern materials to create increasingly more efficient paddles and oars. We always think about the paddlers and the rowers. About their comfort. And about nature.
Johan Wirsén – the world famous kayak designer
Let me introduce myself to you!
I am Johan Wirsén a Swedish boat builder and kayak designer. Over the years I have designed and developed a large number of kayaks and small boats. What began as a hobby and a fascination with kayaks has evolved in recent years into my fulltime job. Today I can look back on my work with pride, and marvel at the extent to which boats created by Wirsén have attracted attention and received a great deal of praise in trials and professional literature.
Tahe Kayaks is expandidng in new as well as already existing markets. There are available Tahe Marine demo kayaks for test paddle at many new locations.
